Straight answers about The Mezzanines desk mat: size, material, care, and whether this Curator Arcane Landscapes artwork suits your table.
Quick answer
The Mezzanines is part of the Curator Arcane Landscapes collection, an oversized desk mat by Brittany Bowman printed on thick neoprene with stitched edges. If you want a large, durable surface that handles Friday Night Magic and doubles as table art, it fits. If you need a small, packable playmat or a rigid art print for framing, look elsewhere.
What exactly is The Mezzanines?
It is a desk mat in the Curator Arcane Landscapes line, illustrated by Brittany Bowman. The catalog describes it as luscious and oversized, made from thick neoprene with carefully stitched edges and crisp printing. It is designed to sit on a desk or game table, not to hang on a wall as a paper print.
How big is it, and what does it cover?
The catalog calls it oversized but does not list exact dimensions. Treat that as a decision limitation: measure your table or desk before buying if a precise fit matters. In practice, an oversized mat covers a full play area for a card game or board game and leaves room for a keyboard, mouse, or tokens at the edges.
Will the stitched edges hold up?
Stitched edges are the main durability feature here. They bind the neoprene layers and reduce fraying or peeling along the border. That matters if you slide the mat in and out of a bag or rest your wrists on the edge during long sessions.
Can I use it for Friday Night Magic?
Yes. The catalog says it can easily overachieve at Friday Night Magic. The neoprene surface gives cards a stable, slightly cushioned base, and the size leaves room for lands, tokens, and a sideboard. It is more than a tournament playmat, but it handles that job.
How should I clean and store it?
Wipe the neoprene with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry flat. Avoid machine washing, hot water, and direct sunlight for long periods, since heat can affect the printed surface and the backing. For storage, roll it loosely with the artwork facing outward or lay it flat; do not fold it, because creases can leave marks on the print.
Is this a paper art print I can frame?
No. The Mezzanines is a neoprene desk mat, not a paper poster. If you want a frameable Curator art print, this is not that product. If you want the Curator Arcane Landscapes look on your table every game night, this is exactly that.
Reader questions, answered
- Is The Mezzanines a playmat or a desk mat?
- It is a desk mat in the Curator Arcane Landscapes collection, sized and built to cover a desk or game table. It works as a playmat for card games, but it is not a small, packable tournament playmat. Buy it for a permanent table surface, not for a travel bag.
- What is the artwork like?
- The Mezzanines features an illustration by Brittany Bowman, printed crisply on thick neoprene. The catalog describes the collection as luscious and tasteful, aimed at design professionals and discerning players. If you want table art that matches a curated room, this fits.
- Does it come in other sizes?
- The catalog does not list size options for this product. If you need a specific dimension, measure your space and check the product page before ordering. No listed size variants means you should confirm dimensions first.
- Will it lie flat after shipping?
- Neoprene mats can arrive with a slight curl from being rolled or folded in transit. Lay it flat, artwork up, for a day or two; the weight and thickness usually relax it. Avoid ironing or heating it. Give it time to flatten; do not force it.
- Is it worth the catalog comparison price?
- At USD 19.14 against a USD 29.00 comparison price, the value is in the size, stitched edges, and printed artwork. If you only need a plain surface, a basic playmat costs less; if you want the Curator look and a large footprint, this is the better buy. Choose it for the art and size, not as a budget utility mat.
